Uses: FIBER-POXY is a super strong epoxy that is perfect for polyester and epoxy fibreglass models. Fantastic for repairing ceramic, plastics, metals, glass, concrete, porcelain, toys etc. Excellent for ARF models and wherever a premium industrial strength epoxy is required. Allows adjustment of parts for up to 8 minutes, sets up (becomes gummy) in 14-18 minutes, medium hard to the touch in 30 minutes, 80% bond strength in 8 hours, Maximum bond strength in 24 hours. Comes in a 1oz size dual syringe type dispenser that automatically dispenses equal amounts ready to mix together. Can be used at 32-300 degrees F. Helpful Hints: FIBER-POXY begins to cure about 8 minutes after mixing... gets gummy in 14-18 minutes and provides maximum bond strength after about 24 hours. To clean up any uncured or unmixed epoxy, use alcohol, isopropyl or methanol, either will work. Thinning of FIBER-POXY is possible in smaller ratios, thinning too much will alter the cured properties and may not produce an adequate bond. It is best to test the thinned epoxy, let it cure and adjust as need. Mix FIBER-POXY in a plastic cup or on a non porous surface like a piece of flexible plastic. Only mix enough epoxy as needed, any excess epoxy cannot be saved after it has been mixed. Pot life and cure time will vary when the epoxy is thinned. Since epoxies cure by an exothermic chemical reaction, ( give off heat ) and heat can speed the cure of epoxy, mixing large amounts can shorten the pot life if not spread out right away. For a quicker cure lower strength epoxy, use Z-POXY QUICK SET 5 MIN. |
